New York, N.Y. — The New York Islanders announced Monday that Kevin Shattzkirk, Jacob Joseffson, and Jake McCabe have agreed on a two-year, $2.9 million contract.
The contract includes a cap hit of $3.4 million.
The signing is contingent on Shattzlkirk passing his physical, and there is no word yet on his status for the 2018-19 season.
The 26-year-old Shattzer joined the Islanders in December as a fourth-round draft pick.
He has appeared in 39 games with four goals and 11 assists, but his .891 save percentage and 2.21 goals-against average have been enough to earn him a two and a half-year deal worth $1.949 million.
Johannesburg native Josefsson, 27, signed a one year contract with the Islanders on Dec. 31.
The 6-foot-4, 198-pound native of Sweden was traded to the Devils on Nov. 22.
He played seven games with the Devils last season.
Shattzki, a fourth round pick (No. 98) by the Islanders, had three goals and six assists in 25 games last season with New Jersey.
He had five assists in 10 games for the Islanders this season.
